Shirley (Royse) Ayres, age 74, of Manchester, Ohio, passed away, Friday, February 2, 2024 at her residence. She was born March 23, 1949 in Manchester. She is preceded by parents Nesbitt L. and Betty J. (Stanley) Royse and her sister, Joyce McCoy.
Shirley is survived by loving husband, Larry Ayres of Manchester; one sister, Jo Conley and Mike of Mississippi; one brother, Carl Hafer and Kimberly of Texas; three brothers-in-law: Ronald Ayres of Manchester, Kelly Ayres of Manchester and David Ayres of West Union; three sisters-in-law: Linda Louiso of West Union, Tina Osman of Manchester and Mickey Taylor of Portsmouth; several cousins, second cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Shirley grew up in Manchester on her family’s farm. She married Larry and continued to live on her family farm where they raised cows. She loved her family and friends dearly. She will be truly missed.
The visitation is 11 – 1 PM Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Lafferty Funeral Home, 205 South Cherry Street, West Union, Ohio 45693.
The funeral is 1 PM Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Lafferty Funeral Home. Pastor Dale Little will officiate.
The interment is at Cherry Fork Cemetery, State Route 136, Cherry Fork, Ohio 45618.
