Reverend Robert "Sam" Potts

Reverend Robert “Sam” Potts, 79, of West Union, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Sunday October 20, 2019. He was the son of the late Kathryn Wamsley Potts and Donald Dean Potts. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nellie "Lucille" Potts and sons, Jamie Conn and Matthew Potts.
Sam served in the US Army for six years and went into the Ohio National Guard for 20 years. He was a cook and recruiter, and he retired in 2000. Sam loved to go to church and play his guitar and pray for people. He was a member of the Riverside Church.
Sam has left behind four children: Brenda (Larry) Cook of Seaman, Ohio, Marvin (Marilyn) Conn of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, James (Debbie) Conn of Manchester, Ohio, and Robert (Jessica) Potts of Mt. Orab, Ohio; brother, Jim Potts of Maysville, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
The visitation is 11 am until 1 pm on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union. The funeral will follow at 1 pm with Pastor Pete Francis officiating. Burial will be at West Union Cemetery in West Union. The Adams County Honor Guard will conduct a military service.
