Rachel Poe, age 53, of Little River, South Carolina, formerly of West Union, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at MUSC Heath University Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina. She was born May 17, 1970 in Wilmington, Ohio to Elaine Meeks Hill and the late Ron Poe; in addition to her father, she is preceded by step father, Ray Hill; grandparents: Lawrence and Marie Poe and Chris Meeks; brother, Matt Poe and uncle Greg Poe.
Rachel is survived by her mother, Elaine Hill of Shelbyville, Kentucky; step mother, Barb Poe of West Union; two daughters: Cecelia Howard (Geoffrey Taylor) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Hannah Howard of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina; one son, Seth Howard of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina; boyfriend, Matt Imhoff of Little River, South Carolina; one sister, Heather Gilliam (Gary) of Shelbyville, Kentucky; three brothers: Micah Poe (Brittnie) of West Union, Ohio, Caleb Poe (Sarah) of Columbus, Ohio and Josiah Poe (Lena) of West Union, Ohio; grandfather, Lloyd Meeks (Donna) of Scottsburg, Indiana; uncle, Gaylord Poe of Ohio; aunt, Annette Benson of North Carolina and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rachel adored her children and family. She took pride in the fact that she spent 34 years as a professional dog groomer. She enjoyed living close to the beach and spent a lot of time there. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The visitation is 2 – 4 PM Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Bible Baptist Church, 9840 State Route 41, West Union, Ohio 45693.
The funeral is 4 PM Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Bible Baptist Church. Caleb and Micah Poe will officiate.
Ms. Poe will be cremated after the service.
