Mel Greene, age 66, of West Union, Ohio died Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at his residence. Mel was born June 2. 1954 in Cincinnati. He is preceded in death by parents, Melvin Greene, Sr. and Mary Jane Farwick; 1st wife, April Greene; 2nd wife Connie Holsinger, and step son, Jason Hall.
He is survived by loving wife, Diane Greene of West Union; two sons: Christopher (Whitney) Greene of Mt. Orab and Joe Greene of Brooksville, Kentucky; one daughter, Christina Greene of Dayton; two step daughters: Amanda Boldman and Joanie (Larry) Ward, both of West Union; seven grandchildren: Aiden, Braiden, Toby, Dakota, Anastasia, Brooklyn and April; five step-grandchildren: Brandon, Savannah, Chasity, Chelsea and Jayson; two sisters: Mary and Charlotte; two brothers: John and Ron; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Mel served in the United States Army June 27, 1976 – January 15, 1977 and May 21, 1982 – January 4, 1984. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He served the Lord as a pastor for many years and enjoyed working around his house. He will be missed.

The public visitation is 12 – 2 PM Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Lafferty Funeral Home, 205 South Cherry Street, West Union, Ohio 45693.
The public funeral is 2 PM Tuesday, March 2, 2021at Lafferty Funeral Home. Pastor Tammy Stone will officiate.
The public committal and military graveside services will be at Hickory Ridge Cemetery, 9916 Hickory Ridge Road, Manchester, Ohio 45144.

Joe it is not normal for them to make you think we do not matter. We are your blood family and we always will be. We have always been close. We never would try to keep you from Hannah. Our whole family knows they are brain washing you! Why would you all the sudden not come to the funeral? What was the issue? Why did they not want you to talk to your family alone? Why can’t you talk to anyone on the phone? Why don’t you have a phone? Why were we suddenly blocked from why contact availability?Why does Hannah speak for you? Is this even you right now? Your own friends at the funeral said their not allowed to contact you. You’ve been in close contact will everyone until you met them. Hannah and her family were welcome to the funeral and our family.
