From tobacco to cattle, Howard had a little of everything on his farm that he tended to with his son, J.C. In keeping with Howard’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. He will be greatly missed, but remembered fondly, by the many stories and memories he has left behind. “If the Army and the Navy ever look on Heaven's scenes, they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines.”
