Delbert McDaniel, 65, of West Union, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Adams County Manor in West Union. He was born in Lynx, Ohio on March 3, 1954 to the late Harry and Leona (Steward) McDaniel. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda (Adams) McDaniel.

Delbert is survived by his wife, Christine (Royster) McDaniel of Wilmington, Ohio; son, James Broughton of Sardinia, Ohio; brother, Junior McDaniel of Manchester, Ohio; sisters: Linda Pollard of Manchester, Rita Lewis of Lynx, Ida Conley of Aberdeen, Ohio, Dorothy Clark of West Union, Berchie Adams of Piketon, Ohio and Ellen Horsley of Manchester; aunt, Betty Steward of Lynx, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Delbert was a farm laborer.

The visitation is from 5 until 7 pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union. The funeral is at 11 am on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 with Pastor Chet Whaley officiating. Burial will be at Copas Cemetery in Brush Creek Township near Lynx.

To All McDaniel family, Keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers at this time. I always enjoyed talking to Delbert as he moved about town each day. We would talk about the weather, how he was getting along, and just life in general. I usually saw him near UDF. I had gotten to know him best in the evenings after school at the old West Union High School. He was a fixture about West Union and did his part to keep the community a clean and vibrant place.
