Ann Chamblin

February 22, 1939 - January 17, 2024

On February 22, 1939, Juanita Ann (Polley) Chamblin was born in Aberdeen, Ohio.  Ann was six years old when the Polley family moved to Winchester, Ohio, where they worked hard for many years on a hundred-acre farm.

Ann peacefully passed away on Wednesday January 17, 2024, at the age of 84.

Preceding Ann in death were her twin sisters Mary Lee (Polley) Burton and Alice Bea Polley; two brothers, Don Polley and Wayne (Clara) Polley; sister and brother-in -law Doris (Robert) Gilkison, sister and brother-in-law Wayne (Joyce) Chamblin, and her son, Timothy Wayne Chamblin.

Ann is survived by three children John Chamblin of West Union, Robin (Ed) Hileman of Stout, and Markus Chamblin of West Union, Ohio. Her son Timothy Wayne Chamblin was eleven years old when he gave his life to the Lord just seven days before he was tragically killed in an automobile accident on his way to a youth revival.

Surviving grandchildren, whom she adored, include Joseph (Kayla) Chamblin of Tennessee, Lisa Lee of Cincinnati, Lucas Timothy Hileman of Knoxville, Tennessee, Jordan Ann (Mason) Reiser of Stout, Ohio and Haven Hileman of Stout, Ohio, and John’s special son, Brian (Shelby) Day of Seaman, Ohio.

She is survived by seven great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren.

Ann is survived by one brother, Bill (Joyce) Polley, brothers-in-law: Milt (Loretta) Chamblin and Rodney (Donna) Chamblin, and sisters-in-law Clara Polley and Mary Ellen (Mike) McCarty.

Ann attended church and loved to play the piano and sing with her favorite song being “He Did It All For Me”. Ann retired as a school secretary where she was employed at Bentonville and West Union where she made many friends including Clarence Wilkerson and Judy Calvert.

Her children would like to extend their appreciation to Ann’s special friend, Teresa Dryden, for her many visits.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, January 21, 2024, at the Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union with Reverend David Hopkins officiating. Interment at the Decatur Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour before the service on Sunday.

I worked with Ann, at Bentonville School, in 1986-87. She was always very nice to me. We had many conversations-----they were always about family. She loved her family so, so much. I'm very sorry for your loss.
